Sub-standard Blu-ray player (Sony you can do better): I received the player quickly - go Amazon! I set it up to accept hdmi for video and optical for audio. Optical didn't work (unlike my HD-DVD player). I tried three different HDMI cables (all 1.3 gold plated, bla, bla) and the player dropped signal at least 3 times during one movie on several occasions. I have a Philips 42" LCD 1080i TV, Philips Soundbar and connected all via HDMI and digital audio. Sound is amazing, upconverts all very well and was a breeze to setup.
